The same thing happens in every online subject. People tend to discuss duplicate topics over and over again without creating anything of value or helping anyone to achieve a damn thing. Once this happens, people are less receptive to information on the subject and quickly become bored. Everyone online is trying to say something important, but very few are trying to DO something important.
After speaking with a large amount of people, I’ve come to the conclusion that very few are receptive to the pie in the sky, cotton candy approach to personal development.
So what do we do?
The positive attitude and law of attraction (you are what you think about the most) principles are true. From my observations, most people believe a singular thought will help someone who is so down and depressed “snap out of it” in a blink of an eye. This is simply not the case. Anything worth doing will require work. What’s more important is the need to see immediate results.
So what can I DO to help others receive immediate results?

In this video, Tony Robbins gives us a real life example of a homeless man asking for a quarter when he can have so much more. We tend to ask for scraps when we can have it all. He also speaks about the RPM model: Results, Purpose, and Massive Action.
Know what you want.

It’s that time of year again where we evaluate what we have done, what we haven’t, and how we will change our lives for the better. In order to truly make an impact on your life, you need to start right now and gradually move into your changes. Write all of your goals out on paper and review them daily before the new year starts so that your new path will already be a habit.
Tell positive people about your new found direction in life and avoid the naysayers. In the end, keep this in mind:
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr. Suess

Here is another Brian Tracy video that explains the extreme importance of having self-confidence. The fact of the matter is, there will always be people who may discredit what you are doing or don’t want you to become more successful than they are. Some of these people fail to realize the hours, days, weeks, and years you may have invested to achieve your goals. Instead of focusing on the negative, use the naysayers and jealous-hearted individuals as inspiration to continue what you believe in.
Brian Tracy goes on to give us a story near the end of the video about a friend of his who completed research on 500 successful individuals who started from nothing to become great people. Read more…
