Signs of Stress
All of us have “stress” in our lives at one point or another. Some people allow stress to consume their thoughts. This reaction to stress can eventually lead to health problems that could be avoided. Finding out what stress is and how to manage it is crucial to your success.
First off, there is no such thing as stress. Stress is not a physical object that you touch or sell on Ebay. Stress is merely our reaction to events in our lives. Think about whatever is stressing you out right now and ask yourself if there is at least one person in this world that wouldn’t be stressed out about it at all. If the answer is yes, which it should be, then that is proof enough that stress is merely an interpretation.
There are two main reasons why we feel stressed: Fear and a lack of control. If you are stressed out about work it may be a fear of losing your job, not feeling that you are in control of your destiny, fear of losing your house, fear of not being able to pay your bills, etc.
It’s not often that we know the outcome of stressful events. We typically feel that we don’t have any control over these situations. When we think of ourselves as victims of stress, we remove all control over the stress.
A few days ago I felt the world leaning on my shoulder. There are a lot of goals that have yet to be accomplished, problems in relationships, , and much more. I started to feel myself slipping into a depressed state, but was easily able to overcome this feeling. How? I gave thanks for all of the things that I have already accomplished. I found a renewed surge of energy when I thought about my current goals and how much progress has been made. I reviewed my purpose in life and mission statement. I focused on the positive and simply took the negative as an indicator that change needs to take place. Nothing and no one will stop me from my goals; period.
I’d like to know the many ways you deal with stress. Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.

I have also started giving thanks for all that I have achieved, as it allows to focus on the positive.
When I am feeling stress, it usually means I need to take some time out for myself, a walk, watch a DVD I have been meaning to watch, a bath, it doesn’t matter what really – just some “me” time.
Me time is great and can be done rather quickly. Sometimes I will take a late night cruise by myself just to ease my mind. Walking the dog could be a good idea as well, but that comes with the risk of getting shot, ran over or devoured by mosquitoes. heh
I miss having a dog, in London it’s not ideal and not fair on the little one as I do not have a garden. They are great companions!
So what is the economic climate like in London? Are there a lot of opportunities to exceed expectations and climb above the rest or do you encounter unique obstacles?
Great Post! I love to read articles that are informative and beneficial in nature. Thank You for sharing your knowledge.
I recently managed to deal with a LOT of stressors in my life just by making a list so I could manage them all. I have stress about life goals and the future, but most of my stress right now just comes from the everyday stuff.
Getting a handle on that, and staying on top of it, has made a huge difference in my energy level at work, my mood, and my motivation to tackle my big life goals.
